The Government of Maharashtra has established "ADMISSIONS REGULATING AUTHORITY AND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions & Fees) Act. 2015 (Mah. Act No. XXVIII of 2015)
The Commissioner of State CET Cell is Competent Authority for conducting CETs.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. XXVIII of 2015), the Government of Maharashtra has notified the rules to regulate the admissions to the First and Direct Second Year of Full Time Professional Undergraduate Technical Courses (Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D., Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology). The admissions shall be carried out as per these Rules and its amendment from time to time. These rules are also applicable for admissions in Government and Government Aided professional educational institutions including ICT, Mumbai as per Government Resolution TEM-2016/C.R.473/16/ TE-4 dated 25th April 2017.
Director, Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai shall act as Nodal Officer for conducting the CETs under Technical Education.

Eligibility for First Year Hotel Management and Catering Technology Admission Admissions
(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate, All India Candidature Candidate and Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidate-
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;-
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination and obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate (at least 40% marks in aggregate for backward class category and Persons with Disabilities candidates belonging to Maharashtra state only);
(iii) Obtained score at CET. (2) NRI / OCI/ PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National
(i) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination and obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate.
(ii) Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from time to time.
Type-A(i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State;
Type-BA Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
Type-CA Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
Type-DA Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
Type-ECandidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.
